This hunt take place in Quebec during the second day of the deer hunting season.This deer came at 6h30 am i shot it with my excalibur exocet crossbow and i was using vortex mini-max III broadhead 2 inch cutting diameter,i’ll tell you these broadhead are devastating.this deer drop 30 yards from where i shot it,i’ve hit both lungs.

We had a good crop of acorns, but the wild hogs have already eaten them all. Scouting the area before season, and knowing where the oak trees are is very important.
Oak trees are also an important food source for wild hogs. The hogs will come in and clean out all the acorns from under an oak tree, leaving nothing for the deer or squirrels.

To make a long story short, my son dropped my rifle one week before this hunt and did not tell me it was dropped, after making two repetitive shots with custom loads, I knew it was not me. 15 minutes later, buck came back out and I had a chance to get my other gun from my truck and harvest him, however I did not film the fatal shot, but I have pictures. Please notice innocent bystander (rabbit) on the first shot. I was shooting a 7mm Magnum.

My first deer hunting season was 2008…so, of course, I had to videotape the experience. Check out how high the deer jumped when it got shot. Since this was my first time, I wouldn’t know, but I’ve been told that’s pretty crazy for the deer to jump like that!
